Baby Milestone Sessions
These sessions are all about capturing the sweet milestones that happen in the first year of your baby's life! Grabbing their toes, giggling, putting anything and everything in their mouths, tummy time, sitting up, crawling, etc! My goal is to capture those precious details for you so that you have them for a lifetime! These sessions do not have to be exactly at the 3 Month, 6 Month, 9 Month, 1 Year. They can be whenever you feel like you want to capture where your baby is! Every baby hits different milestones at different times, so don't worry if we do their 6 month session at 8 months! Absolutely ok!
These sessions usually last around 45 min - 1 hour depending on baby. We can take time to feed and snuggle as well to help them feel more comfortable! Most babies love me, so I normally do not have a hard time coaxing those sweet smiles out, but we will ease into it.
Anything you can bring to make them laugh and/or capture their attention is perfect! Some fan favorites have been playing videos on your phone, anything that makes noise, and of course playing peek-a-boo. 99% of the photos I have in my portfolio are taken with mom/dad/me acting absolutely crazy behind the camera! :) So be prepared to be silly and loud to get their attention!
Tips:
1. You are welcome to bring outfits or special sentimental items you would like to include.
(Let me know what they are so I can coordinate the theme/backdrop)
2. If possible, bring baby fully fed as that will give us more time for pictures!
What Does Each Milestone/Age Look Like?
3 Months
At around 3 months, your baby is now smiling! Babies at this age will smile and interact a lot. This is something that they did not do as a newborn. Since at this age your little one can just hold their own heads up they are styled and posed similar to a newborn. We can use cute fur or fabric backgrounds while baby is laying down on his/her back, and we may even capture them attempting to play with their feet. Some babies will also be able to have some tummy time and place their head up, perhaps peak a smile just long enough for me to capture it!
6 Months
At about 6 months, your baby will be grabbing for toys, laughing, and even sitting up! This is a great age and one of my favorites to photograph. At this age, it is fun to include small elements of clothing like tutus, pants, shorts, etc. If baby is unable to sit unsupported, I may use a bucket or basket to give them a little stability.
9 Months
At 9 months, your baby may be crawling and even pulling themselves up on a chair. This is a very fun age to photograph! Most babies are usually happy and very smiley at this age which makes for some great photos!
12 Months
Around 12 months, crawling, standing, and maybe even walking are milestones for sure! Celebrating your baby’s first year is for both of you! Little man suits and girly dresses and skirts are great at this age! Now that your little one is on the move, toddler chairs work great for this age. Kids love a chair sized just for them!
